Facilities

Nuclear and Radiochemistry has over 75 group members and offers opportunities for students and postdoctoral researchers to conduct research and gain professional experience in the fields of nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry.
The Group has facilities that are located throughout Technical Area-48 that include the following:

• Class 10,000 clean rooms
• Class 100 work areas
• Ten Mass Spectrometers
• Alpha emitter-handling glove box facilities
• HEPA-filtered fume hoods
• Inert atmosphere glove boxes
• Isotope separators
• Radiochemistry laboratories
• Extensive analytical instrumentation
• Extensive radioactive decay measurement facilities
