C-AAC's focus is the analysis of samples in actinide matrices, including determination of the assay and isotopic composition of actinide metals and oxides and of trace impurities in actinide samples. All of the group’s analysis techniques are used for analysis of radioactive materials.

C-AAC provides the highest quality actinide analytical chemistry services to our customers while meeting negotiated turnaround time and budget requirements. Sample analyses are carried out under quality assurance appropriate to the customers’ needs.

Group Capabilities

C-AAC’s detection and analysis capability in x-ray fluorescence (XRF) covers most of the periodic table. The group has two XRF instruments and analyzes samples from both Laboratory and non-Laboratory programs. The instrument shown here is a Philips 2404.
