Chemistry Division Technicians Featured in Book

S. Boone M. Gonzalez V. Montoya M. Abeyta Kim Israel E. Lujan L. Townsend

Book cover

Seven technicians from Chemistry Division are featured in a new book just out from the CRC Press. The book, Analytical Chemistry for Technicians, is a handbook for those just entering the field. It explains analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis from a practical perspective rather than from a theoretical, classroom perspective. One of the main features of the book are its "workplace scenes." These scenes include descriptions and a photograph of the technicians in their laboratories.

Featured Chemistry Division Technicians:

  • Stephanie Boone
  • Manuel Gonzales
  • Velma Montoya
  • Maryann Abeyta
  • Kim Israel
  • Elmer Lujan
  • Lisa Townsend

From the CRC Press description of the book:

" Surpassing its bestselling predecessors, this thoroughly updated third edition, along with its unique ancillaries, is designed to be a powerful training tool for entry-level chemistry technicians. Now even more than ever, Analytical Chemistry for Technicians explains analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis principles and how to apply them in the real world. A unique feature of this edition is that it brings the workplace of the chemical technician into the classroom. With over 50 workplace scene side boxes, it offers stories and photographs of technicians and chemists working with the equipment or performing the techniques discussed in the text. Also, an accompanying CD enhances training activities that use the text, and a working LIMS system can be used in training programs for chemical technicians."

Thanks to CRC press for granting permission to reprint the pages above.
