C-AAC on the Road to Performance ExcellenceOn March 13-14, personnel from Chemistry Division's Actinide Analytical Chemistry (C-AAC) group attended the 10th Annual Quality New Mexico Conference and awards ceremony which celebrated a decade of commitment to excellence by the State of New Mexico. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson gave the welcoming address. Approximately 800 people attended this year's conference. C-AAC is traveling the road to performance excellence and reached its first milestone by receiving Piñon Recognition at this year's ceremony. The QNM Awards are patterned after the Baldrige National Quality Program Criteria for Performance Excellence administered by NIST for the Department of Commerce. Applicant's packages are scored on leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management, and business results. Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories are corporate sponsors of Quality New Mexico and support the QNM Loaned Executive Program. |
